Self-Empowerment * Healing * Connection * Creativity
What is the Creative Process Immersion?
The Creative Process Immersion (CPI) is a healing journey. It’s about remembering yourself and those lost parts of yourself. It’s about finding a new sense of self-confidence, finding a “new” you that you didn’t even know existed.
CPI is a 10-month exploration that supports you to create the life you’ve imagined for yourself. One filled with self-love, tools for self-care and creative tools to express yourself fully. It delivers you back to yourself using the expressive arts to explore the deeper questions of your life.
Are you in transition?
Are you going through grief and loss and don’t know how to cope with the feelings?
Do you not know who you are any more? You’re just retired? An empty nester? A new mother?
Are you wondering how you can give yourself more “me” time for self-care?
Are you grappling with the uncertainty and anxiety of life in these turbulent times?
This journey gives you tools to work through transitions, to get to know yourself in a new phase of life. It gives you tools to integrate feelings of grief, anxiety, trauma and transform them into some creative expression. It gives you the opportunity to create “me” time to fill your well from within.
But, you may think, “Oh, no, I’m not creative.” Not to worry. You don’t have to be an artist, writer or dancer to be in this program. What you need to be is open to exploring who you are now and how you can create your best life right now and not wait for some future moment.
I’m not going to lie, there will be times you will feel uncomfortable. You will rub up against your inner critic, you will feel scared to take the risks you need to take to bloom into the beautiful next version of yourself you are becoming.
BUT, you will be doing this in an intimate container of 21 people, during the course of 10-months, with a highly skilled facilitator whose main objective is to support each person to become THEMSELVES.
This 10-month program combines deep inner work with playful creative explorations that offer invaluable therapeutic outcomes that last a lifetime.

How Does it work?
The teachings are offered both live online via ZOOM in a monthly meeting paired with asynchronous material including over 90 videos and PDFs that support each month’s creative focus. There is a very active Facebook group that keeps people connected when we are not meeting live. Mid-month we check in on ZOOM to see how the process is going and to discuss any questions that arise.
Each month’s modality is full of art instruction, journal prompts poetry, TED talks and other inspirational material to support your exploration in your own time throughout the month. The combination of live and asynchronous teaching supports you to do things in your own time frame.
The year-long study combines the exploration of the seven pillars of the creative process with the three expressive arts modalities of movement, visual art, and writing. It is the path to integrating body, heart and mind. The intention is to move towards your own wholeness as you integrate your physical being with your thoughts and feelings.
The core of your creative exploration will be in an art journal. You will also play with painting on canvas, as well as writing poetry, list poems, and moving your body to discover new movement patterns.
When you register, you will receive a list of supplies you’ll need for the year. Each month there will be clear instructions on what and how we will be exploring each modality and their interplay.

Who is it for?
Who is this for?
This is for the person who is on a self-discovery path. The person who wants to know themselves more deeply and do the inner work to free themselves of stuck places. It is for the person who is in transition, wanting to themselves in a new way. It is for the person processing difficult feelings and seeking tools for positive expression of those feelings. It is for the person who wants a safe and sacred place to explore their creativity. It is for those wanting to develop a deep relationship with themselves and those wanting to live their best lives. It is for the adventurous souls who are willing to step into the dark, look into the mirror and be part of a powerful collective of people doing the same thing. It is for those who want to become whole humans.
The Creative Process as Teacher
The creative process teaches us to play, to experiment, to trust, to take risks, to sit with discomfort, to let go, to not give up and to face our inner critic – who will want to stop us, who will try to stop us. It also teaches how to solve problems, how to find inner resources to stick with the process until we intuitively feel a work is complete.
The creative process gives us a way to enter the flow state – that state of consciousness that is about full presence. When we are fully present, we are completely engaged with what we are doing. Nothing else exists, everything else is irrelevant.
When we are present, we know how to move into the next moment, we know what to do in the face of anything that comes our way. Learning this skill is invaluable because it allows us to stay centered and to move from our center in a topsy turvy, chaotic world.
When we engage in the creative process across three modalities - movement, writing and visual art - we experience a sense of wholeness by engaging the body, mind and heart, which then allows us to live with more access to our deepest selves. Each person learns differently, so when we cross pollinate across a somatic style of learning, with a more intellectual learning style and an emotional learning style, we experience integration within ourselves.
About Your Guide
Hi, I’m Diane Sherman.
I have devoted my life to understanding this human experience and to translating it into poetry, art and movement. In turn, the creative process has taught me to take risks, to see things from new perspectives, to sit with the discomfort of not knowing where I'm going. I’ve discovered that life’s major lessons are reflected in the creative process itself. One of the biggest gifts of the creative process is the ability to access the flow state of consciousness while we are engaged in it.
I know the transformative power of the creative process, not just personally, but I’ve seen my students come alive, make discoveries, heal parts of themselves over the years. I am passionate about spreading the joy available to us when we activate our unique creativity.
As a young adult I pursued my passions to explore writing, painting, and dance as the means to express myself and to find joy and contentment in the moment. This led me to embark on a deep self-discovery journey when I got my Master’s in Arts and Consciousness at JFK University. Simultaneously, I began exploring yoga, meditation, trance dance and the power of art to actively shift my consciousness.
The true devotion to this interdisciplinary path came after a hit and run car accident in 1999. I was a pedestrian. The car came and went. On the long road to healing, yoga, art journaling and writing became my tools. A year later, I became a yoga teacher, and since that time have led hundreds workshops and retreats in both yoga and creative process. I am devoted to pursuing inner freedom for myself and all beings.
I’d love to share the journey with you and be your guide as you explore your life through the creative process further.

What CPI Students say….
I've taken several art classes, but Diane's approach is by far the most all-encompassing in regard to the creative process. She is the right mix of teacher, spiritual guide, and cheerleader. This is not a typical art class. It is an adventure into one's creative spirit and soul that then integrates and infects your life (in a very good way!). When you put in the time and effort and follow Diane's prompts and encouragement, you'll see yourself and your own creative spirit in a new light. Brighter and shinier yes, but more importantly you'll find your creative strengths as well as freedom to be your authentic self in art and in life.
Diane is a delight with brains and a deep heart. She's a creative spirit soaring in the world! I encourage you to jump in with both feet, commit to yourself and join Diane as you change the vibration of yourself and the collective.

The Creative Process Immersion is a gift to the self. Diane Sherman is a Creative Guru, who invented this Creative Process Immersion which gives you a lifetime of experience. It’s been a process for me to move from darkness to light – a journey to find my (lost) self.
Rita, Nepal, 2022
The Creative Immersion process and community has given me the opportunity to go deep into how I experience the creative. By doing so, I am more connected to what brings meaning to my life now. The year spent in this community has gone much more quickly than I thought it would when I was contemplating diving in. Diane Sherman through the essence of who she is, her intelligence, her own willingness to immerse in the creative process, and her incredible ability to teach inspired me to open doorways resulting in a profound shift in my life. Diane is a natural at fostering community as a result I had the opportunity to interact with people across the United States and even Nepal. While being highly intuitive and creative, Diane is also very organized, grounded, and astute at using technology. The Creative Pillars, a model developed by Diane, clearly guides the way. I will draw from these pillars the rest of my life journey.
To be real, I am so dang glad I decided to take the plunge. I feel so fortunate to have had Diane as the guide.
Monica, Washington, 2022
My work with Diane Sherman over the past five years has allowed me to heal and explore parts of myself that was dormant for decades. Journaling and making art allowed me to develop routines and rituals that documented phases of my life from the living through a pandemic to my retirement. The yearlong Creative Process Immersion provided a consistent container for me to deeply explore movement, writing, and visual arts. Surprisingly, I discovered that my Life is a daily expression of creativity. Over the course of the immersion, my creative spirit blossomed thanks to the excellent curriculum Diane has developed. I enthusiastically recommend the Creative Process Immersion if you want to connect with unknown parts of yourself in a supportive community.
Beth, Washington, 2022
The Creative Process Immersion has given me the gift of changing my perception of how I view myself. I am no longer clinging to things that don't serve me or my well-being. I am seeing a lot of great things opening up for all of us as a community.
I believe in this sacred and divine feminine power. I can't wait to unfold more layers of this creative process.
